History

RHG began from a desire to help one young man be able to wrestle on his high school team. Both my husband and I were high school athletes, and we found solace, release, acceptance, and great joy in our high school athletics. As high school athletes, neither one of us thought twice about needing new cleats for soccer, new spikes for track, or new gear for football because we knew those needs would be met.

When our own kids began participating in school sports, they told us about their friends’ struggles to buy necessary sports’ gear. We were moved to do what we could to help these kids. Therefore, we purchased a gift card from a local sporting goods store and gave it to the athletic director. However, we realized the need was larger than a gift card, and we wanted to do more.

We sat down and talked about finding a way to reach more kids. We wanted to work with athletic directors who knew kids that need that ‘one thing’ to get them in the game. From there Real Hearts Give was born.

We are in the early stages of our vision, just acquiring our 501c3 status this year. We are excited to get to fundraising and making the difference we know we can make in the lives of the youth in our community, in your community.
